BoG authorizes Hubtel to operate as enhanced payment services provider
“People are marveled by how matured our infrastructure is here and not doing badly, there are a lot of countries that do not have Mobile Money and other tech systems in place”
The Bank of Ghana (BoG) has licensed Hubtel Ghana to operate as an enhanced payment services provider.
The authorization is an indication that Hubtel’s payment processing operations are compliant with the standards of the central bank, thus permitting it to provide the services and innovative solutions to the general public.
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Hubtel Limited, Alex Bram told journalists that Ghana is among the top tech destinations in the world.
This, according to him, is due to the right infrastructure available in the country.
He said: “People are marveled by how matured our infrastructure is here and not doing badly, there are a lot of countries that do not have Mobile Money and other tech systems in place”
On the digital economy, Mr Bram said competition is fierce because a lot of activities are moving online, thereby changing the way people live their lives from communicating with family and friends to doing business.
Hubtel is Ghana’s leading mobile value-added aggregation and payments platform.
The compnay is founded on the belief that Africa will be a better place when businesses make customers happy.
Since 2005, Hubtel has led the deployment of several highly useful mobile technology solutions for over 40,000 businesses.
