Buabeng Asamoah runs from Misogynistic Statement against NDC Running Mate
The ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP)’s Member of Parliament for the Adentan Constituency, Yaw Buabeng Asamoah, has become the picture of cowardice after his misogynistic statement against Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyeman incurred him scorn.
Barely 24 hours after he wrote among other things that Prof. Opoku-Agyemang, is a hater of women, the Adentan MP has claimed that he never meant to mean what everybody knows he meant when he wrote that the first ever Ghanaian woman with a real shot at the Presidency is wicked and undeserving of the office of Vice President.
“In an ideal world, one of the strongest things going for the selection of the good Professor would be that she is a woman, and this would be met with a lot of enthusiasm. Unfortunately, Prof Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang hardly meets the expectations of someone who has a track record of fighting for women and their welfare,” Yaw Buabeng Asamoah had written.
However, when he was asked why he made that statement, he claimed he had never made that statement.
The coward, who is also the NPP’s Director of Communications, then scaled down to say he had been quoted out of context.
Buabeng Asamoah would then go on to divert the conversation with Peace FM’s Kwame Sefah Kaye to the infections of Accra Girls SHS students with Covid-19.
Mr. Buabeng Asamoah had really hurried ahead of himself to issue a statement yesterday, immediately former President Mahama named Prof. Jane Naana Opoku Agyeman as his Running Mate.
In addition to accusing the woman of hating her fellow women, the NPP Director of Communications also accused her of wickedness.
“When the ‘Montie Trio’ threatened death upon some Supreme Court Justices, including the then Chief Justice Theodora Georgina Wood, this newly appointed running mate to Mahama was one of those who joined the campaign for their release.
“Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang’s ardent anti-feminist posturing was too obvious to ignore when she appended her signature to the petition to have the trio who had then been incarcerated at Nsawam to be freed against sound advice from well-meaning Ghanaians.
“How can a woman who hates her fellow women to the extent that she advocated the release of the jailed trio so that they could rape and kill her fellow women be given such a responsibility?
“We wonder what the message is that John Dramani Mahama is sending Ghanaians by picking Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang as his vice presidential candidate when her stewardship in the past brought such heartache to teachers and trauma to her colleague women,” Buabeng Asamoah had written.
His misogyny has since been roundly condemned by well meaning Ghanaians.
