In Enugu State, Nigeria, a tragic incident unfolded when businessman Chikwado Eze lost his life during a ritual intended to bring him success in an overseas business venture.

Eze, originally from Ugbaike, had recently obtained a visa for the trip and sought protection through fortification from a native doctor in Inyi, a community in Igbo-Eze North Local Government Area.

As part of the ritual, the native doctor instructed that Eze be buried alive for one and a half hours.

On the day of the ritual, Eze, accompanied by his father, Uwakwe, was placed in a grave for a specified time.

However, when he was exhumed, Eze was found in a weakened state, sweating heavily.

Despite the native doctor’s attempts to revive him through incantations, Eze remained unresponsive.

He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was declared dead.

Both the native doctor and Uwakwe have been arrested by the police for questioning.

Uwakwe, who had previously been ostracized from his community for involvement in dangerous practices, denied coercing his son into the ritual, stating that Eze had organized everything himself before involving him.

The Enugu State Police Command confirmed the incident through spokesperson Daniel Ndukwe, who reported that the native doctor, Enuwa Odugu, and Uwakwe were arrested for conspiracy and the murder of 26-year-old Chikwado Eze.

The native doctor confessed to the crime, admitting that he had conducted similar rituals in the past. He claimed that Eze’s death resulted from his failure to follow specific ritual guidelines.

The police are continuing their investigation, and the suspects will face charges in court once the investigation concludes.
