Ashantigold Sporting Club’s opponent in the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Confederation Cup final preliminary round, Renaissance Sportive de Berkane president, Hakim Ben Abdellah is expecting a tough battle at the Len Clay Stadium in the first leg tie.
Ashgold also progressed to the first round of the CAF secondary competition after seeing off Equatoguinean side Akonangui FC 4-1 on aggregate.
Last year finalists, Berkane received a bye in the preliminary round and will be battling with the Miners for a spot in the next phase of the qualifiers.
According to the Berkane President, they don’t have much knowledge about the miners but are optimistic they can win the game on Saturday.
“We got a very good reception at the Airport from the people of Ghana and we really appreciate that,” he told Kumasi-based Ashh FM after their arrival in Ghana earlier today.
“We don’t know much about the Ashgold team and I know the game won’t be easy but we trust our players and we will make sure we win the game on Saturday”
“We are taking it match after match and I know with the kind of players we have, we can win the game against Ashgold here in Ghana,” he ended.
The Obuasi-based club will play as host to RS Berkane on Saturday, September 14 before travelling to Morocco for the second leg slated for September 27.
