Cathedral – Create Loot and Share: A case of a President Looting Public Purse and State Capture

Hiding behind the Cross, Christianity and a Cathedral to CREATE a slush fund at the Presidency out of the National Budget and LOOT it without any Parliament Approval; and SHARE, on the blindside of everyone, poor Ghanaian taxpayers money among cronies least of all a GAY LGBTQI ADVOCATE – DAVID ADJAYE who was handpicked by President Akufo-Addo as Architect, paid Millions fully aware he was not qualified to work in Ghana…

David Adjaye until recently, this year, was not registered as an Architect in Ghana; a key requirement for practicing in Ghana.

David Adjaye in spite of stiff public opposition and outcry by Ghanaian Architects, was not only handed the Cathedral and Marine Drive project which was yanked from renowned Ghanaian Architect, Frank Tackie whose life work it was the Marine Drive Project.

David Adjaye was handpicked for the Trade Fair Redevelopment Project without tender, paid upfront and according to signed Board Minutes of the Ghana Trade Fair Company, attempted to SELL 50ACRES OF PRIME TRADE FAIR LAND with the CEO of the Ghana Trade Fair Company, Dr. Agnes Adu and the CEO of COCOBOD without knowing what to use the land for…

It will be recalled that President Akufo-Addo recently led a delegation to Dubai where the Government signed a $1billion agreement with a Singaporean Company, Stellar Holding for the development of 65-acres of the 140-acre Trade Fair Redevelopment Project land…

President Akufo-Addo, Alan Kyerematen, Ken Ofori-Atta, Dr. Agnes Adu, McDanand David Adjaye must tell Ghanaians what they are doing with the remaining 75acres of the Tradefair Redevelopment Project Land?

President Akufo-Addo’s private Law firm had written several letters to the Trade Minister Hon Alan Kyeremanteng warning of a potential JUDGEMENT DEBT in their not honouring the Trade Fair Redevelopment Project Agreement signed between the Government of Ghana and a wholly Ghanaian owned company.

The Reroy Group which won an international competitive tender supervised by PriceWaterHouseCoopers acting as Advisors of the Ghana Government.

A clear example of State Capture.

Fortunately, the controversial International Agreement with the Singaporean company will have to come before Parliament; the Minority has signaled its stand on such Government business ahead of the passage of the LGBTQI BILL.

Clergy Victims and Perpetrators:

Some Clergymen and Women were decieved into joint the Cathedral bandwagon, others bowed to peer pressure thinking everybody else was on board whiles others NPP’ Rev. Asante Antwi (late) who hold positions in Akufo-Addo’s government and party were active participants from conception to date.

Rev. Opuni-Frimpong has categorically stated on national television and radio yesterday that the Original understanding with President Akufo-Addo was that, “the government will provide LAND and the Church will find the MONEY to construct the Cathedral.”

With the facts available, all Clergymen and Women must be given an opportunity to opt out of the Cathedral scam or remain…

It started as a Cathedral then metamorphosed into a Cathedral with a replica Wailing Wall, then a replica Garden of Eden was added then a replica Bible Museum…

With each new idea grew the cost and the Loot created to be shared without accountability nor transparency.

Then came the controversial Anonymous Fundraising which allegedly was designed to allow for the LGBTQI Community to support the Cathedral Project.

The Chairman of the Cathedral Fundraising Committee declined to confirm nor deny the contribution of the LGBTQI Community to the fundraising when asked on national television and radio.

The opacity of the Cathedral Fundraising and general expenditure from the President’s office lends itself to corruption, misappropriation, misaplication and Money Laundering.

The Clergymen and women associated with the Cathedral Project must insist on an immediate forensic audit of the Cathedral Fundraising and the overall project or risk their reputations being destroyed.

Christianity and Religion was being exploited by President Akufo-Addo as a political election tool; hoping to get significant chunk of the estimated 71% Christians who were to be held hostage by their pastors’ involvement in the scandalous Cathedral Project…

Akufo-Addo confirmed his intention of exploiting Christianity for economic gain, to save Ghana’s collapsed economy and use Religious Tourism as a conduit to hoodwink poor Christians to visit a FAKE Wailing Wall, FAKE Garden of Eden and FAKE Bible Museum in Ghana, so their money will be spent in Ghana…

After wasting so much money from Ghanaian Taxpayers…

After destruction of so many trees…

After demolition so many extensive buildings requiring relocation, compensation and extra expenses…

AFTER STEALING PRIME LANDS and raping Article 20 of the 1992 Constitution of Ghana; by not returning the State Acquired Land to the Original Land Owners since it was not acquired for a personal pledge of a President nor for building a Cathedral…

After starting the construction with impunity even as a court injunction and Substantive Court Case were pending…

The Cathedral Secretariat’s Rev. Victor Kusi-Boateng and the Executive Secretary, Dr. Paul Opoku Mensa said on National television and on the Joy FM Super Morning Show that they were granted Judicial Permission by Chief Justice Sophia Akuffo to ignore the pending Court injunction and Substantive case and commence construction of the Cathedral…

“Unless God build the Cathedral, the builders build in vain”

Rev. Victor Kusi-Boateng boastfully on Asempa FM Ekosiisen said they will build the Cathedral regardless of what Ghanaians say…

With 26.7% inflation, hardship and the revelation of the financial scandal around the Cathedral funding and fundraising, it is time to pull the brakes;

IT IS TIME TO ASK EACH OF THE CLERGYMEN AND WOMEN IF THEY WANT IN OR OUT…

ARISE GHANA!

LET’S GO AND SEE FOR OURSELVES.

Let’s demand answers from the President, Parliament, the Finance Minister, the Cathedral Secretariat and the individual Clergymen and Women.
