Chairman Wontumi has been a total failure – Kofi Jumah jabs

“I can tell you that all those seeking re-election must be voted out with the exception of the regional Organiser in the person of Francis Adomako and the Women’s Organizer. Apart from these two people, all of the regional executives have failed the party including Wontumi.”

Leading member of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Ashanti Region, Maxwell Kofi Jumah, who doubles as the Managing Director of GIHOC Distilleries, has described the eight-year term reign of the party’s leadership in the region as a total failure.

The former Asokwa Member of Parliament (MP) singled out the incumbent regional chairman, Benard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, and described his term in office as a total failure.

Speaking on Akoma FM‘s current affairs and political show GhanAkoma Friday, May 27, Mr Kofi Jumah lashed out at the current Ashanti Region NPP leadership, describing them as failures and urged delegates to vote against them all except two.

“I can tell you that all those seeking re-election must be voted out with the exception of the regional Organiser in the person of Francis Adomako and the Women’s Organizer. Apart from these two people, all of the regional executives have failed the party including Wontumi.”

He later ranked the aspirants of the chairmanship position and rated Wontumi as the worst among the five.

He told host of the show Aduanaba Kofi Asante Ennin that “among all the five aspirants for the apex position, that’s the chairman race, Wontumi has the less political experience so I will rate him just one and I will rate his close contender Chairman Odeneho Kwaku Appiah, popularly known as COKA, with three over three because he has the academic qualifications to critically analyze data and make informed decisions and projections.”

Mr Kofi further chastised the current chairman with what he described him as “unnecessarily living flamboyant lifestyle which gives bad impression about the government and thus making the party unpopular. So, it will be very difficult for the NPP to break the eight if chairman Wontumi is reelected”.

The NPP regional elections was supposed to come off Friday, May 27 but was rescheduled to Saturday, May 28 and the venue also changed to Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
