Bath House blues – Nana Kwadwo Gyasi, former Gyasihene of Juaboso in the Western North Region (WNR) must count himself blessed for being alive to date.

Nana Gyasi was allegedly stoned in his bathhouse in the late hours of Friday, May 22, 2020, but through divine intervention, he is still alive and kicking.

According to him, he wobbled to knock at the windows of his sons but received no response. The Lad, KwameHene Nana said, told the man in the mask that he was a resident there and that he had come out to urinate. After that encounter, the man according to Nana took to his heels towards a particular direction where he has been engaged in litigation with residents there.

Nana Gyasi told this medium that when day broke, he reported the matter to the Juaboso Police station.

When the commander of the station Supt. Samuel Ntosoh was contacted, he stated that he was sure that the case had been officially reported to the station.

He maintained that Nana Gyasi had once mentioned it in passing in his office but did not believe that he had formerly lodged a complaint.

According to the commander, his checks later revealed that the case had been booked in the station diary but no official statement had been taken from him (Nana Gyasi). Asked if he was given a medical report, Nana Gyasi replied in the affirmative but said that since he could not afford the bill of the medical report, he had not gone for it from the hospital for onward presentation to the Police.

The Commander then charged Nana Gyasi to do a follow-up on the case for the police to take the appropriate action. He maintained that if Nana Gyasi suspected anyone behind the stone-throwing incident, he should indicate in his statement for the police to invite the one.

Supt. Ntosoh was quick to point out that he knew Nana Gyasi very well, and was aware of the fact that he had a case (litigation) with the sitting chief, though they are all royals and related. The Commander indicated that the two royals were litigating over a piece of land, which had even reached the paramountcy at Wiawso.

Expatiating Supt. Ntosoh mentioned that Nana Gyasi’s chief brother, Nana Kwadwo Mensah II had lodged two complaints against Nana Gyasi at the station. He said that one of the cases pertained to the theft of his (chief’s) firewood by nana Gyasi, and the other case pertained to threat on the chief by Nana Gyasi.

According to the commander, since the two royals did not want to have the case settled amicably, the police had sent these two cases to court and were pending before the Juaboso District Magistrate court.

Meanwhile, the police have finally taken down the statement of Nana Gyasi while the investigation goes on. So far, no arrests have been made.
