A 35-year-old chop bar attendant, known as Akwasi has defiled a three-year-old girl using his finger at Ashongman Estate, a suburb of Accra.
The mother of the victim got to know of the defilement after the little girl informed her she had been assaulted thrice by the suspect in the kitchen of the chop bar, leaving the victim unable to pass urine for some days.
The suspect when confronted initially denied committing the crime but confessed later when his employer threatened to hand him over to the police.
Mother of the victim subsequently lodged a report at the Police station following which she was issued with a medical form for a medical test to be conducted on the little girl.

The suspect has since gone into hiding.
