Connect with the Grassroots, Pick Up Your Calls, and You Will Go Far – VR Minister-Designate advised

A journalist and National Democratic Congress (NDC) sympathizer, Graham Kofi Baldwin, has commended the appointment of James Gunu as the Volta Regional Minister-designate, describing it as a step in the right direction.

According to Baldwin, James Gunu, a former District Chief Executive (DCE) for Akatsi North, embodies the qualities of a unifier, humility, and approachability. Speaking to the media at Parliament House on Tuesday, January 14, Baldwin emphasized that Gunu is highly qualified to lead the region and expressed hope that he will connect effectively with the grassroots to promote rapid development in the Volta Region and strengthen the NDC’s presence.

“It will be disastrous for NDC appointees to take office and lose touch with the grassroots, as this attitude has previously hurt the party. James Gunu, however, is an experienced and kind politician who knows how to navigate difficult situations,” Baldwin stated.

He urged NDC supporters and the public to rally behind Gunu, adding that his appointment is a testament to President Mahama’s commitment to grassroots leadership and addressing the developmental needs of the Volta Region.

The announcement of James Gunu’s appointment sparked jubilant celebrations across the Volta Region, with residents praising the decision as a positive move toward fostering inclusive and people-centered governance.
