Peoples’ Liberation Council (PLC) of Western Togoland Denounces Col. Festus Boahen Aboagye’s (Rtd) Comment that “Peoples’ Liberation Council Is The Military Wing Of Western Togoland Secessionists”

PEOPLES’ LIBERATION COUNCIL (PLC) OF WESTERN TOGOLAND DENOUNCES COL. FESTUS BOAHEN ABOAGYE’S (RTD) COMMENT THAT “PEOPLES’ LIBERATION COUNCIL IS THE MILITARY WING OF WESTERN TOGOLAND SECESSIONISTS”
The attention of the Peoples’ Liberation Council (PLC) of Western Togoland has been drawn to a comment made by Col. Festus Boahen Aboagye (RTD) on the PM: Express program on JoyNews TV under the topic WESTERN TOGOLAND SECESSION, hosted by Mr. Evans Mensah on Monday, 28th September 2020.
On such program as stated above, Col. Festus Boahen Aboagye stated, that “…including the military wing that they have, that is Peoples Liberation Council…”
We wish to state here clearly that Col. Aboagye’s Comment is baseless, misleading, unfortunate, lacks due diligence and does not reflect the true activities of our noble organization, Peoples’ Liberation Council of Western Togoland.
Since Col. Aboagye chose to openly display a high level of not being current, we gladly refer him to read Peoples’ Liberation Council of Western Togoland’s press Statement of distancing itself from the recent blockade of roads in parts of Western Togoland, Published on the early hours of Monday, September 28, 2020. https://ghananewsonline.com.gh/peoples-liberation-council-plc.of-west/.
Setting the records straight, Peoples’ Liberation Council (PLC) of Western Togoland is a dully registered organization in both Ghana and Europe and the organization’s activities are known to the Ghana government. It is therefore disparaging to hear unfortunate comments of such magnitude against the organization.
Col. Aboagye should take lesson that the activities of Peoples’ Liberation Council does not include militarization and since the inception of PLC, the organization is and has remained nonviolent. Military exercise has never been one of its activities.
Despite our name; Peoples’ Liberation Council of Western Togoland, Col. Aboagye should know that the name “Western Togoland” does not necessarily refer to PLC in particular.
We, therefore, entreat the Ghanaian populace and the people of the world to disregard Col. Aboagye’s comment, it’s unfounded and without an iota of truth.

The Peoples’ Liberation Council has its doors open to dialogue and we will encourage the government and media houses in Ghana to take advantage of that by inviting PLC into such forums for discussions if they really want to establish the truth about the PLC.
