Covid-19: Dzifa Abla Gomashie reminds Assembly Members of their leadership responsibilities

A former Deputy Minister of Tourism and Creative Arts, Dzifa Abla Gomashie, has reminded Assemblymen and Women of their leadership roles in educating their communities on COVID-19 protocols so as to stop the spread.

Dzifa Gomashie now a Parliamentary Candidate for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for Ketu South, said, Assemblymen have the responsibility as part of their leadership roles to make sure that members of their communities adhere strictly to the protocols to prevent large crowds from Church Services, meetings, funerals or at beaches when they are pulling the net.

She added that, “It’s only when people understand and appreciate what is at stake, that they will not gather” irrespective of whatever business they want to transact.

In an interview during the presentation of some Veronica buckets and other items to the Ketu South Municipal Assembly on behalf of the MP for the Area, Fifi Kwetey, madam Gomashie charged the Assemblymen to put their shoulders to the wheel to fight the deadly virus.

“Each of us have a role to play, either for self preservation, or for community education. If you look at the three, I think that, the Assemblymen/women are embodiment of that, they are leaders, they must preserve themselves and they have to set an example in the community,” she stated.

“This presentation is a response to the call that, assembly people want more support and the MP responded positively”.

The items presented include: 115 Veronica Buckets, 115 Washing Bowls, 100 200ml hand sanitizers plus 75 2.5 Litter Gallon of Liquid Soups to be distributed to all both elected and government appointees to the assembly as well as others special groups and persons.

The Municipal Coordinating Director, Alhaji Yussif Abrahim who received the items was grateful to the MP and The PC.
