Covid-19: Enclosed spaces must take protocols more seriously – Oppong Nkrumah
Minister for Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has advised managers of enclosed work environments to ensure strict compliance to the Covid-19 protocols so as to curb the rise in case counts.
Ghana has recently recorded a sharp rise in coronavirus cases and this has been attributed to the low level of compliances of the laid down safety protocols.
Speaking on Citi News, the Minister said the government will continue to educate the public on the need to adhere to all safety protocols.
“The COVID spike in numbers is a bit worrying. The data suggests that a lot of them is coming from enclosed environments and that is why we have renewed calls for managers of these places to step up compliance to COVID protocols while we step up general public education, so that we do not go higher in terms of our numbers.

“Again, the data shows that over 75 percent of the spike is in the Greater Accra Region and therefore it is important to ensure that compliance is even deeper in this particular area. When it comes to COVID, all cards are on the table but it is a dynamic exercise. The data is what directs us on what to do,” he stated.
Within a period of three weeks, Ghana has recorded more than 700 active cases.
