COVID-19: Fiifi Kwetey presents PPE to his Constituents

Member of Parliament for the Ketu South constituency in the Volta Region, Franklin Fiavi Fiifi Kwetey, has donated some Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) wealth about Gh¢35,000 to the Health Directorate of the Ketu South Municipal Hospital.

The items include two gun thermometers for the monitoring of temperature of persons within the jurisdiction of the Hospital Community; and gallons of liquid soap. It is also include 10 gallons detergents, 200 pieces of 200ML of hand sanitizers, 100 pieces of gloves and 35 Veronica buckets and same quantity of supporting bowls. He also presented two Veronica buckets with bowls, hand sanitizers and liquid soaps to each of 39 Electoral Areas. Same will be presented to the Assembly and at other vantage points and areas/places within the Ketu South Municipality, all in support of the fight against the spread of Coronavirus.

Presenting the items on behalf of the MP, the Constituency ND Chairman, Solo Kumordzie, asked the Hospital Authorities to put them into good use.

In an interview, Kumordzie told ghananewsonline.com.gh they deemed it appropriate to make the donation to the Facility because, “the hospital is the first point of call if there is a suspected case of the virus in The Municipality”.

He called on the people to observe the social distancing directive and wash their hands with soap under running water regularly as directed by The President.

The Municipal Director of Health Services, Joseph Kwame Degle, who received the items promised to use them for the intended purposes.

He was grateful to the MP and the NDC party for the kind gesture.

He disclosed that, in all 46 persons who have history of travel, are under quarantine within the Municipality.

“These persons are either traveled from Spain, the United States of America and the United Arab Emirates”, he stressed.
