Covid-19: NPP Parliamentary Candidate Distributes Hand Sanitizers to Constituents

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate for the Afram Plains South Constituency in the Eastern Region, William HOR, has joined the fight against coronavirus by distributing over 4500 pieces of hand sanitizers to his constituents to help fight the coronavirus pandemic in the area. Ghana has so far recorded 378 cases, six of whom have died.

The distribution excercise is part of the aspirants contribution towards the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. He started his it on Monday as his campaign team stormed the Maamekrobo Chief Palace to intiate the donations of hand sanitisers, vitamin C, assorted personal hygiene and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to help protect the frontline workers against the spread of the coronavirus in the constituency.

Beneficiaries include market women, shop owners, GPRTU branch in the District, Lorry stations, Police stations, patients and staff of the various health centers in the District, the Forifori prisons camp and other individuals took home hand Sanitisers, packs of hand gloves, protective safety masks, liquids soaps for hand wash vitamin C, and many other safety gears as well as mounting buckets with fitted tap valves (Veronica Buckets) to be placed at vantage points in the Constituency to enhance frequency in hand washing.

The beneficiaries were also educated on how to protect themselves from attracting the virus – they were entreated to avoid coming into contact with persons showing symptoms of flu or fever, avoid handshaking and strictly observe the basic precautionary measures including; handwashing with soap under running water, using alcohol based sanitizers to clean hands frequently, covering of mouth when coughing or sneezing, among others.

The Parliamentary candidates who is optimistic of winning the 2020 elections in an interview with Ghananewsonline.com.gh after the distribution to the people of Tease township yesterday called on all well meaning Ghanaians to join hands in combating this deadly epidemic. He stated that his move is not a vote buying one but to contribute towards the development of the country as a citizen.

“The fight against coronavirus is not the sole responsibility or an individual fight, we as Ghanaians need to join hands to support our leader to win this all important fight. I wish to appeal to all of us, especially the well to do in our communities to contribute towards this cause by supporting the poor and destitute with hand sanitizers.

The chairman of the NPP in the Constituency, Emmanuel Opoku, also admonished the Constituent to practice social distancing and other personal hygiene so they do not attract the sickness deadly virus.
