CR: Court jails 2 brothers for stealing cooking utensils, remands scrap dealer
Missing cooking wares, including those that contained food had become a phenomenon in the Ojobi and Akoti communities all in the Gomoa East District of the Central Region.

On 24th February 2025, over one hundred women turned up at the Ojobi District Police Command to file reports on their missing cooking utensils.
Their action followed the arrest of a scrap dealer who had in his possession thousands of mangled cooking wares.

Missing cooking wares, including those that contained food had become a phenomenon in the Ojobi and Akoti communities all in the Gomoa East District of the Central Region.

Police investigations led to the arrest of Emmanuel Egyir and Prince Egyir who are siblings, after the earlier arrest of Mumuni Abubakar, the scrap dealer.

All suspects were subsequently arraigned before the Awutu Breku District Court and charged with “Conspiracy to commit crime to wit stealing, and stealing contrary to Sections 152, and 124, of The Criminal and Other Offences Act, 1960 Act 29”.
The court presided over by Her Worship Ama Adomako-Kwakye found the two siblings who pleaded guilty to the offenses guilty and has convicted them to a combined prison term of two years.
The case of the scrap dealer, Mumuni Abubakar Faiza who pleaded not guilty has however been adjourned and the suspect is expected to appear before same court in two weeks.
