Cursing NPP Executives: My hands are clean – Kafui Amegah
Cudjoe Kafui Amegah, one of the aspiring candidates disqualified from contesting in the April 25 Parliamentary Primaries of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Atiwa East constituency of the Eastern Region on grounds of benefiting from a curse invoked on the vetting commitee and other party gurus has deassociated himself from the act, describing it as “obsolete that does not bring about integrity and ratiocination to our political processes”.
It would be recalled that some youth in the Atiwa East constituency recently invoked curses on the entire NPP executives who in one way or the other might have manipulated the election process to the advantage of the incubent member of Parliament for the area Abena Osei Asare.
In an audio recording currently in circulation, the disgruntled youth were heard mentioning the names of four men contesting the incubent MP including Mr. Cudjoe Kafui Amegah.
The Eastern Regional vetting commitee chaired by the Deputy General Secretary of the Nana Obiri Boahene disqualified all aspirants allegedly on the grounds that they benefited from the curse invoked. He as therefore tasked the disqualified aspirants to fetch the youth who committed the act so they can come and reverse the curse.
However, Kafui Amegah, has told Ghananewsonline.com.gh that he condemn the act saying invocation of curses is not something he will subscribe to or approve of.
“I don’t know any of those guys who made those invocation, I only saw the video in a WhatsApp group as any other person did, my hands are clean and i have no idea of their source of information” he stated.
Cudjoe Kafui Amegah further explained that the invocations he understand happened as a result of some disgruntled supporters who per a rumor that there was going to be mass disqualification of all aspiring parliamentary candidates who were contesting the seating MP at the vetting.
“While I disagree with the outcome of the vetting committee for disqualifying me on the invocation of curses, I would like to state that I respect the decision of the party leaders and my allegiance to the party has not dwindled and will continue to do my very best in any capacity assigned to me in order to see our Party triumph in the upcoming election, also as a staunch Christian of a Presbyterian background and my father in-law by name Bishop Nyarko-Antwi who is the International Prayer Director of Action Chapel International, I can in no means consult to other deities to satisfy my disappointment and will not do anything that will bring about sedition and or plant a seed of discord in this pivotal period of our country”.
