In a stunning reversal, Cynthia Morrison, former Minister for Gender, Children, and Social Protection appears to be engaging the governing pary, NPP to find ways of withdrawing her decision to contest the upcoming parliamentary elections as an independent candidate.
According to sources the MP is having discussion with her mother party to return and dump her independent bid in view of the logjam in Parliament occasioned by the declaration of four parliamentary seats by the Speaker, Alban Bagbin.
Morrison, who is currently representing the New Patriotic Party (NPP) as the Agona West MP, opted for an independent candidacy after alleging unfair treatment during the party’s internal primary for the 2024 election.
