Damongo MP Visits Ongoing Project Sites In His Constituency

The Member of Parliament for Damongo and Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Samuel Abu Jinapor has undertaken a one-day inspection tour of infrastructural projects within the Damongo Township.

The inspection tour saw the Damongo MP visiting covered significant the ongoing reconstructional works of the Damongo Agric dam which serves as the major source of drinking water for livestock and also for irrigational purposes for the cultivation of vegetables and other crops, especially during the dry season by some farmers in the Damongo municipality.

He noted that the Damongo Agric Dam project, initiated a year ago, is nearing completion with major works expected to conclude by the end of April 2024.

Hon.Jinapor in a speech expressed satisfaction at the rate of work at the
the agric dam after it had dried and commended the efforts invested in safeguarding the dam and assured that he is putting in the necessary measures to ensure that the dam is very well protected.

Disilting and riprapping of rocks along the dam’s edges are some of the measures put in place by the contractor with the aim of preventing erosion and ensuring the stability of the dam structure.

The next stop of the MP’s tour was the Youth cassava processing factory where he stressed the importance of expediting necessary measures to commence operations, emphasizing the factory’s role in fulfilling its intended purpose and benefiting the local community.
