Dangote Jnr writes on John Mahama’s Running Mate

One of the most critical decision a party can take is to select a running mate to the flagbearer. This responsibility by virtue of our constitution is vested in the flag bearer himself.

He is divided between selecting someone who he thinks can be a good partner to him, regional/ethnic balance and satisfying the needs of influential men within the party.

Its been 10 months now since H. E. John Dramani Mahama was elected to lead the NDC into the 2020 general elections and he is yet to settle on a running mate.

What we the grassroots do not know is that he has been consulting a lot of stakeholders within and outside Ghana to enable him come out with an acceptable running mate who can win us 2020 elections to cure the hunger for power.

Fellow comrades, in as much as we are hungry for power, we cannot be hungrier than the flagbearer himself. It is therefore unforgivable to think that the flagbearer will select a running mate who he knows will keep us in opposition.

In the next moment the next president of Ghana will name the next VEEP of Ghana.
He/she cannot be the choice of every one.

However, if we really love the NDC and JM as we claim, it will be best for all of us to shelve our preference and rally behind the preference of the flagbearer.

He/she cannot come from all 16 regions, over 50 tribe or hold all the educational qualifications we anticipate. What he/she can be is to be a Ghanaian.

It will be a calamity for us to begin to write inciting articles after he has named the running mate and allow our opponents to take advantage of that.

Should there be a write up or phone in program in relation to the running mate, let it be a favorable one.

This is the only way we can match forward to the flagstaff house come 2021.

Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and successful new year 2020.
