DCE for Adansi South ordered to refund Ghc68,000 of the MP’s Common Fund
The directive is from the Administrator of the District Assemblies Common Fund, Madam Irene Naa Torshie Addo.
The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Adansi South in the Ashanti Region, Francis Kwabena Ankomah, has been ordered to refund close to Ghc68,000 of the MP’s Common Fund that he is said to have misapplied.
The directive is from the Administrator of the District Assemblies Common Fund, Madam Irene Naa Torshie Addo.
“It has come to the notice of the office of The Administrator of the District Assemblies Common Fund that the First Quarter 2021 MPs Common Fund release to the District was used by the Assembly for purposes other than the MPs Constituency project,” she said.
“You are being directed to refund the amount involved (Ghc67, 320.27) into the MPs Labor constituency Fund for the intended purpose as soon as your common fund is received,” the letter from Naa Torshie dated 27th October 2021 read.
It added that such actions breach standard practices in regards to the DACF.
“It is instructive to note that such actions constitute misapplication of funds as prescribed in the PFMR 2019, LI 2378 and the guidelines governing the application of the DACF by MMDAs.”
