The Chairman of the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has asserted that dissatisfaction within the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) is pushing its members to seek change in the upcoming December elections.

According to him, more NPP supporters are eager to vote against their party than NDC loyalists, due to growing disillusionment with the Akufo-Addo-Bawumia administration.

He argued that many supporters of the ruling party are frustrated by the government’s handling of the country’s resources, which he claims has resulted in widespread economic hardship.

“They are all blaming the NPP for the current woes in the country. They also know that not everybody in the NPP is causing the woes. It is just a few of them who have made themselves mafias and they have plunged the country into these woes and have overturned everything in our democracy,” Mr. Asiedu Nketia stated.

The NDC Chairman further suggested that, contrary to popular belief, a significant number of NPP supporters might vote for the NDC’s presidential candidate, John Mahama, in the upcoming elections.

“I believe going into this election, if we are not careful, the NPP supporters who will vote for John Mahama will be more than those of us in the NDC. The NPP has effectively split into three factions,” he added.
