The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has strongly condemned recent verbal attacks on former President John Agyekum Kufuor by Dela Edem, a member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC)’s National Communications Team and an adviser to John Dramani Mahama.
During an appearance on TV XYZ, Dela Edem made controversial remarks, describing Kufuor as “evil” and attributing his current health challenges to a curse resulting from his alleged actions during his presidency.

In a statement released on Saturday, November 16, NPP National Organizer Henry Nana Boakye, popularly known as Nana B, criticized the comments as “despicable, shameful, and disgraceful.”

The NPP has called on former President Mahama to publicly disassociate himself from the remarks, take disciplinary action against Dela Edem, and issue a formal apology to Kufuor.

“Former President Kufuor remains a respected statesman whose legacy and dignity must be protected. Such uncouth comments have no place in our political discourse,” the statement emphasized.

The incident has drawn widespread backlash, with many Ghanaians urging for a more respectful tone in political engagements, especially when addressing elder statesmen like Kufuor, whose contributions to Ghana’s development remain significant.
