Delta Airlines’ Latest Airbus A 330-900 Neo for Accra-New Yorke Route Receives Water Salute as it Touches Down in Accra.

It was all pop and pageantry as Internationally recognized Airline, Delta Airline’s newest aircraft for Accra-New York route touched down in Accra on October 2, 2024.

The Airbus A330-900 neo received a water salute when it touched down at the Kotoka International airport signifying it’s ceremonial first flight.

Speaking at a news Conference in Accra on Wednesday (September 2,2024), Delta Airlines’ Director of Global Communications for Europe, Middle East, Africa and India (EMEAI), Mr. Ralph Albus revealed that the choice for the new aircraft for Accra-New York route was motivated by customer satisfaction and passengers’ positive feedback.

He said the Airbus A 330-900 neo with a 281 seating capacity would provide additional comfort for passengers travelling from Accra to the United States adding that it will deliver an enhanced travel experience in Ghana.

“We’ve moved from 4 times per week operation to a daily operation and the feedback that we get, there is a lot of appreciation for our product and our airplane has been very full and this is right time to operate our larger aircraft that’s the Airbus A330-900neo which represents 30% additional seat”, Mr. Albus emphasized.

He revealed further that the aircraft offers four distinctive experiences – Delta One Suites, Delta Premium Select, Delta Comfort+ and Main Cabin – and more cargo capacity to cater for growing demand.

The Director of Global Communications for Delta Arlines in charge EMEAI, later emphasized that the prospects for this new aircraft looks good due to its 30% additional seats and 75% additional cargo capacity adding that it will help boost commerce between Ghana and the US.

 

On Security and safety, he said it is their number one priority revealing that most of their pilots are from the US Airforce.

“These are individuals that are tried and tested. They have flown in extreme conditions and after serving their country, they are now flying in the civil aviation space. Their experience is incredible and I’m very confident on the safety”, Mr. Albus stressed.

On her part, the General Manager for Delta Airlines GSA, Eloina Baddo highlighted the opportunities this new aircraft present to Passengers, calling on them to book ahead of time in order to get cheaper fares and enjoy the comfort of the Airbus 330-900neo
