A renowned entrepreneur and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of K. Adu Gas and Oven in Kumasi Suame, Kwabena Adu, has charged Ghanaian youths not to rely on the promise of any government or politician for survival, rather they should take their destiny into their own hands by using all opportunities around them if they want to succeed in life.
Adu, made this statement in an interview with Ghananewsonline.com.gh, in a reaction to a promise by the National Democratic Congress(NDC) that it will pay allowances to all Apprentices in the country should they win the 2020 general elections.
It is speculated that the NDC and its flagbearer John Dramani Mahama have promised as part of their manifesto for the 2020 general elections that they would pay allowances to all apprentices in the country to help support the youth in the creative sector.

However, Kwabena Adu, who though believes the alleged promise is achievable, said it will face some challenges which might not help the government achieve its objective because the country has no proper data on the apprentices in the country. He believes this will hinder the implementation of the programe
He emphasized that it is cost-intensive and very difficult to pay a fee for all apprentices, hence the cautioned to the youth not to follow the promises of politicians.
He said politicians always take Ghanaians for granted as they come with sweet tongues approaching elections, “typical reference is the construction of One District One Factory (1D1F) policy by the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) which has become a fallacy in many Districts. That promise when fulfilled could have employed a lot of unemployed youth in the country but that has not been the case “.
Kwabena Adu opined that many countries in Africa and other continents have endorsed his Gas and Ovens product in their respective countries but he has had no support from any Government after haven existed in Ghana for over ten years assembling gas and ovens.
The CEO of K. Adu Gas and Oven urged the government to support local companies in the country to flourish by supporting them financially and making provision for soft loans as well as tax reliefs to enable them expand their facilities in other to admit more apprentices.
