The Ghana National Council of Private Schools (GNACOPS) as called on all private basic schools in to the country to hold on with the BECE registration payment until further notice.
In a press statement released today and copied to Ghananewsonline.com.gh, GNACOPS noted that an earlier unfulfilled promise was made by government to absorb 50% of BECE registration fees of private schools.
The Director for Administration of GNACOPS, Esther Quist Wood, who signed the document asserted that “the President of Ghana (Nana Akufo-Addo) made us [a promise] during our meeting with him on 28th of November, 2018, that the government will absorb 50% of BECE registration fees and referencing follow up meetings at the Ministry of Education with the Minster on the matter”
GNACOPS has therefore called on private schools to hold on with the payment of “Ghc 88.00” as BECE registration fees until the promise made by government is fulfilled.
GNACOPS has entreated all its stakeholders in the private school fraternity to exercise restraint and be resolute as the council works on resolving the issue in defense of their interests.
