Dr. Bawumia promises one district, one modern market

Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has promised to construct modern markets in every district in Ghana if he wins the 2024 general elections.

Speaking at Hohoe in the Volta Region as part of his tour in the region, The flagbearer of the NPP, Dr. Bawumia indicated that he is committed to help traders to make their businesses attractive and lucrative and that can only be done if they have modern market places.

“The next thing that I want to do is, I want to help traders and before you can help traders there must be a market place. So I have two main policies that can help the traders, so every district that doesn’t have a modern market will get a modern market.” He promised.

According to him, since the New Patriotic Party came to power, the Nana Addo led government introduced social interventions and implemented policies that transformed the life of the people.

Dr. Bawumia stressed that the NPP government made access to health facilities easy through the introduction of agenda 111 and districts that were deprived from road infrastructure have now benefited from good roads networks through the launch of District Road Improvement Programme (DRIP) initiative.

And that one district, one modern market will boost the economy.

“Since we came to power, we implemented solid policies, districts that were not having hospitals have now benefited from agenda 111. Any district without roads, we have solved it with DRIP. We have built courts in every district, the next one will be a market in every district.” He assured
