Dumped baby burnt to death at Kasoa
Information gathered indicates that a lady saw a black polythene bag dumped behind the school building in the community and thought it was rubbish.
A baby boy has been burnt to death at Kasoa Kumbe near Opeikuma in the Awutu Senya East Municipality after being dumped by an unidentified mother behind a school building.
Information gathered indicates that a lady saw a black polythene bag dumped behind the school building in the community and thought it was rubbish.
She subsequently took the wrapped polythene bag to a refuse dump.
At the refuse dump, the wrapped polythene bag and other rubbish were set ablaze.
At that point, eyewitness Alhassan Abdul Razak said they realized the wrapped polythene bag contained a baby.
He said they rushed to rescue the burning baby, but it was too late because the baby had died.
Abdul Alhassan Razak suspects the baby’s mother may not be from the community.
Meanwhile, the Unit Committee Chairman for Kasoa Opeikuma – Krispocity Electoral Area, Sulley Siisey, stated that he suspects the mother of the baby was from elsewhere and dumped the child behind the school.
He mentioned that they had not seen anyone who had recently given birth in the area but would do their best to investigate and arrest the culprit.
The case has been reported to the police and is pending investigation.
