Edem Kofi Kpotosu leads in Ho Central NDC Contest

Edem Kofi Kpotosu, an educationist is in the lead in Ho Central NDC Constituency contest according to rank and file of delegates in the power house of the NDC.

The respectable teacher has a track record of a philanthropist whose activities even cut across all political divides.

Delegates in the Ho Central Constituency are set to elect a Parliamentary candidate to represent the National Democratic Congress in the 2024 Parliamentary Election.

Incumbent Member of Parliament for the area, Benjamin Kpodo, has thrown in the towel paving way for delegates to vote and arrive on a new candidate for the party in Ho Central.

Among the candidates contesting in this year’s Parliamentary Primary in the constituency include, Mr Emmanuel Kafui Dzamefe, Stanley Nelvis Glatey, Raphael Kordah, Lawyer Selorm Dey and Randsford Kasu.

They shall battle the ballot position with Edem Kofi Kpotosu who is tipped to win the NDC slot on May 13, 2023.

Proxies assert that, amongst the considerations that delegates will arrive at have to do with maturity, hardwork, kindness and someone who may be eligible for an appointment in the next NDC government.

Delegates from Takla, Hodzo, Nyive, Tanyigbe, Taviefe, Matse, Klefe and Ho have all concluded that, looking at the contest ahead of the NDC in 2024, the party in the Ho Central Constituency must put forward a formidable candidate most especially, an experienced and a unifier to maximize votes in the constituency for the NDC.

Being a teacher, Edem Kofi Kpotosu is said to have offered himself and assisted in the development of so many youth in the constituency and beyond.

They claimed that, during the last primary in the constituency, Edem Kofi Kpotosu sold his ideas and even though did not garner the expected votes to make him a candidate, he stood with the party and communicated for the party by selling the image of the party and image of His Excellency John Dramani Mahama.

They observed that, Edem Kpotosu is a selfless individual who seek the welfare of other people even beyond political divides “We need a candidate who can break into the folds of especially the NPP in the Constituency and neutralize the little gains the NPP has made in the Constituency” a delegate from Takla said.

According to them, majority of the people who have been with the NDC can attest to the fact that Edem Kofi Kpotosu will not laud any position on any party member and for that matter constituents of the Ho Central.

An affable leader, Edem Kofi Kpotosu was a polling agent for his party (Kabore) in the 1996 elections, was a TEIN UG Member from 1999-2002, he was also Treasurer for the NDC (Sokode-Gborgame RC B) from 2018 to 2022 and Branch Chairman, (Sokode-Gborgame RC Branch B) from 2022 to date.

The politically connected aspirant was Chairman, (Sokode Zonal Campaign team) 2020 and has played significant roles in the maximization of the NDC’s votes in the Ho Central Constituency in the 2020 elections.

He is associated with the University of Technology, Cambodia, Mphil (Employment and Labour Law) – 2001-Pending, Mount Crest University College, -LLB. 2014-2017, KNUST, Executive M.B.A. 2008 -2010 and University of Ghana where he had Master of fine Arts part 1 from 2005 – 2007, University of Ghana, Diploma in Theatre Arts from 1999-2002 amongst other enviable academic qualifications.

In his own words to the delegates, Edem Kofi Kpotosu said, “as provided for in the NDC Constitution as well as the 1992 Constitution, the NDC has officially released the guidelines for Parliamentary and Presidential Primaries 2023.

My name is Edem Kofi Kpotosu, a descent of Taviefe.

My fervent intention is to inform branch executives as well as Party Members and sympathizers that I have decided per their request and advice to pick nomination forms, file and contest the next primaries as soon as the party officially opens nominations.

I have served the NDC Party in different capacities and I am an active member of the party at the Branch Level and at the Constituency Level. I appreciate your support in the previous primaries. As you unanimously gave me your word, I wish and hope that you trust me once again with that authority in this primaries” he has been saying these to the Ho Central Constituency NDC delegates as a form of assurance for good leadership. He is number four (4) on the ballot paper.
