Efo Mawugbe Writes: Former SIC MD, Hollistar Duah-Yentumi, is the Real KASONGO of Our Time!
The immediate past Managing Director of State Insurance Company Limited, (SIC) Hollistar Duah-Yentumi, is being trolled on social media over her dramatic actions following her dismissal.

The former MD initially took a legal action against the company and its newly appointed Acting MD, James Agyenim Boateng citing unfair termination and disrespect for corporate governance structures.
In her suit, filed on February 4, Duah-Yentumi argued that her appointment was contractually secured for a four-year term, set to expire on January 1, 2028
But social media has since, been awashed with the former MD’s bunkum and demagogue, likening her to a “Kasongo” (warthog).

“I mean how, is the SIC your father’s property, even kasongo won’t do this”, another enthusiast stressed.
Kasongo the warthog is a character in a viral video that uses the song “Kasongo” by Orchestra Super Mazembe. The video shows Kasongo defending himself from predators using his speed, agility, and sharp tusks.

Hollistar’s actions which is akin to kasongo’s bravado, has since triggered national conversations with some experts questioning the calibre of persons appointed to head such SOEs(State Owned Enterprises).
Not even the NPP party came to her rescue as some die hard NPP Faithful who were former CEOs under the erstwhile Akufo Addo fired a diatribe at the former SIC MD for embarrassing the past government.
Former Deputy MASLOC CEO, Afia Akoto in her Facebook post said “I am so embarrassed by the attitude of some former CEOs refusing to vacate their offices and allowing themselves to be the subject of discussions this week. It is difficult to say this because one of them I personally know . And I can’t get the reason behind this dragging. But respectfully, next time when appointing people into office, let’s be sure they personally contributed to the struggles of the party and not because they have relatives that contributed to it. Some never shouted kukurudu nor 3ye zu but feel entitled to act in both administrations. This bad attitude from some appointees is something only the gods of our land can understand. I always say fear the silent ones in this game call politics and not those of us who are open about issues. These are the people NDCs foot soldiers never dragged in the gutters, nor NPP foot soldiers benefited from, yet feel more entitled than those of us who have been battered and beaten virtually on social media by our opponents and even supported our base from our own resources. Dear NDC 5000 men and 3000 women. This job should be easier for you. Or you say I should gellaway ”.
Former NEIP boss Kofi Ofosu Nkansah also jumped to the fray and rebuked the actions of the former SIC boss.
“I support NDC foot Soldiers chasing out any NPP Appointee who is refusing to leave office.
If NDC appointees had not left, would we have gotten opportunities to also serve?
Even in the same Government, the President can appoint you today and remove you tomorrow so what’s the point in resisting the President’s directive ? Hollistar has withdrawn her court application seeking to halt the termination of her appointment by President John Mahama”, Mr. Nkansah stated on his Facebook wall.
Meanwhile the barrage of criticisms with its associated pressure has forced Duah-Yentumi, to rescind her decision to pave way for the new MD, Mr. James Agyenim Boateng to take over.
