Dr. Edward Kofi Omane Boamah, the Director of Elections and IT for the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) is questioning the due diligence that was conducted by the Electoral Commission (EC) before awarding contracts to some of the companies printing the materials for the upcoming elections.

He has pointed out one of the companies, YASARKO, saying the printing firm has been “giving excuses upon excuses” instead of carrying out with the work it is supposed to do.

According to Dr. Omane Boamah, the party, through its “Eagle Eyes” initiative, has been monitoring the printing of the election materials 24/7, with reports from the aforementioned company tantamount to undermine the integrity of the upcoming polls.

In a post on his Facebook Friday, October 25, 2024, Dr. Omane Boamah said the failure of YASARKO to deliver on its mandate has brought frustration upon its agents who have been deployed to their office to monitor the printing in three different shifts.

He suspects YASARKO might be lacking the wherewithal to print out the ballots but was awarded the contract to outsource it to a third party to print the papers on its behalf.

He urged the party agents policing the printing to monitor the process with continuous vigilance to ensure nothing untoward is done.
