“John Mahama is a visionary leader who prioritizes the needs of the people. His track record in delivering infrastructure that benefits communities is unmatched. From schools and hospitals to roads and energy projects, he has proven his dedication to ensuring every region receives its fair share of development,” Awuah-Darko stated.

He cited several key projects undertaken during Mahama’s presidency, including the Kejetia Market, the Kumasi Airport expansion, and various road networks that have enhanced regional transportation.

He mentioned that the National Apprenticeship Program (NAP) would provide jobs for artisans in Magazine, while adding that investment in agriculture and rice production alone could create over 200,000 sustainable jobs for NABCO trainees.

Awuah-Darko also addressed concerns over perceived political biases in the Ashanti Region. He encouraged the electorate to critically evaluate the contributions of all political parties and recognize the tangible impact of Mahama’s policies.

“We cannot allow partisan politics to overshadow progress. The evidence is clear—when Mahama is in office, the Ashanti Region sees results. This is a call to action for us to vote for development and a better future,” he said.

NDC’s Vision for the Future

The former TOR boss outlined some of the NDC’s plans for Ashanti under a potential Mahama administration, including the construction of additional hospitals, improved road infrastructure, and investments in education and agriculture.

He assured the region that an NDC government would continue its focus on sustainable development, economic growth, and the creation of jobs for the youth.

Grassroots Mobilization

His media appearance and community engagement form part of the NDC’s broader strategy to engage directly with communities across the Ashanti Region.

Party officials have intensified efforts to consolidate support in the region, which is traditionally considered a stronghold of the incumbent New Patriotic Party (NPP).

As Ghana approaches a critical election year, Awuah-Darko’s call resonates with a growing section of the electorate seeking infrastructural transformation and inclusive governance.
