#ElectionCommandCentre: Nana Yaa Jantuah calls for justice for victims of Techiman violence in 2020 polls
She says it is disheartening that four years down the lane, persons who lost their lives in the process have not received justice whilst perpetrators of those crimes walk free.
Nana Yaa Jantuah, a former General Secretary of the Convention People’s Convention (CPP), has called for justice for the 8 persons who died during the 2020 elections.
She says it is disheartening that four years down the lane, persons who lost their lives in the process have not received justice whilst perpetrators of those crimes walk free.
She has advised that the country refrains from what happened in the previous elections to ensure the lives of Ghanaians are protected as another elections beckons.
Speaking at TV3 and 3FM’s official launch of Election Command Centre at Media General’s premises at Adesa We, Kanda, Thursday, August 29, 2024, she said “it is woefully unacceptable, for anybody to lose their lives because of an election.”
“We should not accept it, we should not let it happen ever and we should ensure that every Ghanaian is protected, whether young or old. A 15-year-old to lose his/her life in 2020 cannot be repeated. We are going into an election, four years down the lane, 8 people died, we have not been able to find out who killed them.
“Everybody needs justice and there is the need for us to ensure that justice is delivered. We should preach peace, we do peace, we should exact peace that on 7th December 2024, this country should be intact,” she stated.
