Electrochem Ghana Limited has beefed up security at its plants after picking intelligence of another planned attack
It comes after some assailants attacked the company last week.
Damages included the destruction of heavy machinery and compressors, theft of brand-new air conditioners, motorbikes, over 100 new mattresses, more than 700 brand-new head pans, and large quantities of salt valued in the millions of cedis.
Some staff of the company sustained injuries as result of the attack.
Speaking on PM Express on Joy News on Wednesday (15 January), CEO of McDan Group, Kweku Ampromfi said the company has picked up signals of another planned attack on its facility on Thursday.
” The crazy thing is that that attack or that threat hasn’t completely been annihilated. Today we received intel. There’s another planned attack coming in tomorrow.”
“So we’ve beefed up security. We have the military presence, we have good military presence. We have police on alert. Our security is ready,” he said.
