Ernest Norgbey leads Parliamentary Committee on Sports to visit Black Stars ahead of crucial match night

The Parliamentary Committee on Youth and Sports has paid a working visit to the National Football Team, the Ghana Black Stars at the Accra Sports Stadium. The visit was to offer words of encouragement to the team ahead of the World Cup qualifying match against Les Sao of Chad Friday, March 21, 2025.

He also entreated the players to put in their all and win the much-anticipated match.

On his part, the Chairman of the Youth and Sports Committee, Ernest Henry Norgbey and MP for Ashaimanen couraged and motivated the Black Stars team, emphasizing the support of the over 30 million Ghanaians including the 276 representatives of the various constituencies.

He further stressed the Nation’s collective aspirations to qualify for the 2026 World Cup, with hopes of reaching the finals in the USA, stressing the importance of teamwork and a sense of national spirit as key to victory
The Ranking Member on the Committee, Hon. Vincent Ekow Assafuah, mentioned the importance of unity as a result of the love for football by citizens.
“Sometimes that is the only time you find all the people in the country, members of NPP and NDC singing with one unison”, he said.
He emphasized that players’ motivation is driven by patriotism rather than money. He urged the team to stay focused for the 90 minutes of the game. The Coach of the team, Otoo Addo, commanded the Committee for their efforts and assured Ghanaians that, the Black Stars will raise high the flag of Ghana.
