Esther Smith Arrives in Ghana

Legendary and revered gospel artiste Esther Smith has landed on the soil of Ghana for the first time in 11 years.
Esther who has to her name eight inspiring albums and two recent singles was met with a rousing welcome at the Kotoka International Airport on Monday, August 12, 2024, ahead of her highly anticipated live concert in two regions in the country.
Her return home is part of her quest to reconnect with her fans. In a Facebook post, she described the comeback.
“It feels amazing to be back home, surrounded by the warmth and love of my people. I’m thrilled to reconnect with all of you in the coming days! And as promised, I’m excited to announce that Esther Smith Live Concert is finally coming to Kumasi & Accra!”
The concert will take place in Kumasi on August 25 and in Accra on August 30 under the theme “The Vision is Jesus”.
Among the artistes to perform at the concert are Joyce Blessing, Oware Junior, Kofi Sarpong, Mark Anim, Morrice Babyface, Lady Prempeh, Minister OJ, Noble Nketiah, and Dorcas Appiah.
Esther rose to prominence within the country’s gospel fraternity with her debut, ‘Gye No Di’, and has maintained her prominence with all subsequent releases.
She is known for timeless songs such as Odiyasem, Onyame ye Nyame, Teamu fre Jesus, Ma Wonsan, Onyame Banbo, Maye Nhyira and Nyame Ben Ni.
Her first album titled Gye No Di was released in 2000 followed by Onyame Boafuo in 2002, Kura Wo Gyedie Mu in 2004, Wo Din No Hyeren in 2006, Maye Nhyira in 2009, Onyame Wo Ho in 2010, Som no Yie in 2012 and Wanimounyam So in 2022.
In 2023 and 2024, she respectively released Golgota and Onyame Banbo- two singles.
