Ex-NPP MP Gifty Klenam dumps Party for NDC, Backs Mahama’s Vision and Leadership

“I appreciate the NPP for the opportunity to serve, but Ghana needs real leadership. Mahama’s plan to accelerate the export sector is the way forward,” she said, dropping the bombshell that’s got NPP loyalists fuming.

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has been dealt a bruising blow as former Lower West Akyem MP Gifty Klenam, ditches the party for the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC)—leaving her former comrades reeling!

At a no-nonsense press briefing, Klenam made it clear: she’s found a new home in the NDC and is fully sold on John Dramani Mahama’s vision for Ghana’s export sector. And in a move that’s bound to sting her former party, she declared her late father would be grinning in his grave at her decision to switch sides.

But as if that wasn’t enough, Klenam had to swat off speculation that she’s been planted by the NPP as a mole inside the NDC. When Akora Kofi Darko of XYZ Broadcasting grilled her on whether she was a double agent, she laughed it off, insisting she was fully committed to her new family.

The defection is a major embarrassment for the NPP, which is now left nursing its wounds. With Klenam jumping ship, it raises serious questions about just how much confidence even former loyalists have in the party’s direction.

One thing’s for sure—NPP bigwigs won’t be sleeping easy tonight!
