The Volta Regional Communication officer, Sorkpa K. Agbleze has eulogized the Volta Regional Caucus in Parliament for touching the lives of the ordinary Voltarian by paying hefty cost of surgery and other treatments which they could not afford. According to him, since the roll out of the massive social intervention by the Members of Parliament (MPs), close to 10,000 surgeries have been done.

“Since the roll out of this massive social intervention by the members of parliament, over 56,000 people have been screened, close to 10,000 had surgeries done on them and about 15,000 people received spectacles,” Agbleze said in a statement.

However, checks on the website of the Lifetime Wells Vision – the organization that partnered the Members of Parliament from the Volta Region on the social intervention program indicates that, the organization had undertaken only 7,500 surgeries in both Ghana and Tanzania.
The big question lingering on the minds of the people of the Volta Region is how the Regional Communication officer’s figures far exceeds the total number of surgeries conducted by the organization in the two countries in which they operate.

It can therefore be concluded that the Regional officer of the National Democratic Congress in the Volta Region is engaging in cheap propaganda to promote the retention of underperforming  MPs in the region against the will of the people.

Our checks from some of the constituencies in the Volta Region including the Kpando constituency indicate an outright opposite of the real issues pertaining to the surgeries conducted by the organization in the region.

Some residents of the Kpando Constituency have questioned whether the regional communication Officer has contacted the said NGO to ascertain for himself whether or not the Kpando MP supported their activities in the Constituency.

According to them, they have reliable information that their Member of Parliament, Dela Sowah, has disappointed the NGO on several occasions concerning the eye screening program. As a result, all their efforts in the Constituency were financed solely by themselves.
“The said NGO came to perform surgeries for some residents of Biakoye Constituency at Margret Marquart Hospital, but Kpando was left out on the grounds that our MP as usual of her, failed or actually refused to sponsor the program,” a resident lamented.

Some of the indigenes are therefore calling on the Regional Communications Officer to retract the said statement and render an unqualified apology to the people of Kpando constituency because they never benefited from this goodwill of their MP.

“We want to send a strong signal to our fellow Comrades both within and outside the Constituency to halt every move being orchestrated to impose Dela Sowah on the good people of Kpando Constituency. “No amount of PR gimmick can save Dela Sowah from defeat due to her abysmal performance as a 3rd time MP. Kpando Constituency deserves better leadership, representation and service than we are being offered under her tenure” one of the residents added.

In view of this development, some concerned members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Kpando constituency have issued a release to call out the lies of the Regional Communications Officer – Kafui Agbleze.

EXPOSED: How Volta Region NDC is plotting to retain MPs who are underperformingTHE VOLTA REGIONAL COMMUNICATION OFFICER (KAFUI AGBLEZE) MISLEAD THE PUBLIC WITH HIS RECENT STATEMENT ON EYE SCREENING AND SURGERY BY VOLTA MPs

It is with a heavy heart that I write to expose the lies contained in a statement purported to be coming from the RCO of the Volta Region, Kafui Agbleze!

The RCO recently released a statement on the above subject in which he sort to thank some hard-working MPs of our great party. This gesture is commendable and we thank him for bringing to our attention the sacrifices of some of our MPs despite the fact they are still in opposition.

It is however unfortunate and very insensitive on the part of the RCO to try to give praises to the MP for Kpando Constituency for something she knows nothing about.

Let’s set the records straight!!

I’ll like to find out from the RCO whether he has contacted the said NGO to ascertain for himself whether or not the Kpando MP supported their activities in the Constituency.

For your notice, information available to us indicates that our MP disappointed the NGO on several occasions concerning this eye screening program. As a result, all their efforts in the Constituency was financed solely by themselves.

Recently, the said NGO came to perform surgeries for some residents of Biakoye Constituency at Margret Marquart Hospital but Kpando was left out on the grounds that our MP as usual of her, failed or actually refused to sponsor the program.

To cut a very long story short, the Dela Sowah we know wouldn’t sponsor a program of this magnitude and keep quiet about it. She would have paid for CNN, BBC, DW, AL JAZEERA and all the international media to cover it.

I can’t forget the almighty Akpini Fm, they would have composed a song and jingle for that program which will play 24/7 on their airwaves until 2024 election.

Someone who flooded social media with group photos of her cronies and a “poor young man” after donating a set of spanners to the young man who appealed for her support would do everything to ‘break’ this story and wouldn’t wait for the RCO to publish it.

While we call on the RCO to retract the said statement and render an unqualified apology, we want to send a strong signal to our fellow Comrades both within and outside the Constituency to halt every move being orchestrated to impose Dela Sowah on the good people of Kpando Constituency.

No amount of PR gimmick can save Dela Sowah from drowning due to her abysmal performance as a 3rd time MP.
Kpando Constituency deserves better leadership, representation and service than we are being offered under her tenure.
