First Lady Jill Biden has tested positive for coronavirus, according to her office.

After testing negative for Covid on Monday during a routine test, the First Lady began to develop cold-like symptoms later that evening, according to a statement from her communications director, Elizabeth Alexander.

‘She tested negative again on a rapid antigen test, but a PCR test came back positive,’ Alexander said.

The First Lady, 71, has been prescribed Paxlovid, the antiviral treatment her husband, President Joe Biden also took after testing positive for Covid last month.

Jill Biden is double-vaccinated and has received two booster shots, according to her office. She is currently only experiencing mild symptoms of the virus.

‘Close contacts of the First Lady have been notified. She is currently staying at a private residence in South Carolina and will return home after she receives two consecutive negative Covid tests,’ Alexander said.
