Fisheries Minister Pledges To Complete Abandoned Anomabo Fishing College

The Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture, Emilia Arthur has pledged to complete and operationalized the Anomaba Fisheries College which was started in 2013 but was being abandoned by under NPP government.

Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture who doubles as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Shama Constituency expressed disappointed in the Nana Addo-Bawumia government for failing to start the school for the past 8-years while all classrooms and Hotels were ready.

Anomabo Fisheries College, which was initiated by the late President, Professor John Evans Atta Mills administration in 2011 and nearly completed by the John Dramani Mahama government is aimed of training unemployed youth into fishing but the school was abandoned after living office according to the Minister.

The legislator said, the project will help train people and also employ many youth when complete.

In an interview with the media during a working visit, Hon. Emilia Arthur promised to ensuring the completion and operationalization of the college to help train more people into fish farming.

Meanwhile the MP for Mfantseman Constituency, Dr. Ebenezer Prince Arhin also reiterated that, when the university comes to operation, it will create jobs and boost the local economy of Anomabo community and its catchment area.
