#FixTheCountry convenor sacked from Ashaiman District court after clashing with judge
According to EIB Network’s Court Correspondent Murtala Inusah, the confrontation between the two followed Oliver Barker-Vormawor’s description of the court as a “Kangaroo Court” leaving the sitting judge fuming with rage.
There was drama at the Ashaiman District Court on Monday, February 28, 2022, after the convener of the #FixTheCountry movement, Oliver Barker-Vormawor clashed with the presiding judge, Eleanor Kakra Barnes Botwe.
According to EIB Network’s Court Correspondent Murtala Inusah, the confrontation between the two followed Oliver Barker-Vormawor’s description of the court as a “Kangaroo Court” leaving the sitting judge fuming with rage.
This led to heated exchanges between the judge and the accused after which the court ordered for him to be taken out of the courtroom while his lawyers remain in the court dealing with the issue.
The social media activist is facing Treason Felony charges after his arrest over plans to destabilise the country.
In a social media post, he threatened to stage a coup if the controversial Electronic Transfer Levy (E-levy) is passed by Parliament.
He posted, “If this E-Levy passes after this cake bullshit, I will do the coup myself. Useless Army!”
