Gaza-Palestine Conflict: TUC urges World Leaders to Intervene

The Secretary-General of the Trades Union Congress (TUC), Dr. Yaw Baah, has called on world leaders, including US President Joe Biden, to intervene in the ongoing conflict in Gaza and Palestine. Dr.

Baah made the appeal during this year’s May Day celebration in Accra on Wednesday May 1, 2024.

Condemning the ongoing war between the Israel and Palestine, Dr. Baah described the killings of the Israeli soldiers as “senseless killings” and called for an end to the conflict in that part of the world.

Dr. Baah expressed solidarity with the people of Gaza and Palestine, emphasizing the need for international intervention to end the violence. He urged President Biden and other world leaders to impress upon Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to halt the hostilities and seek a peaceful resolution.

The TUC Secretary-General emphasized the importance of protecting human rights and promoting peace globally. He stressed that the international community has a moral obligation to act and prevent further bloodshed in the region.

The May Day celebration, which commemorates Workers’ Day, was attended by various trade unions and workers’ organizations together with people from the diplomatic community. The event highlighted the struggles and challenges faced by workers worldwide, including the impact of conflict and political instability on their livelihoods.
