He stressed that the NPP has got to the level where it needs a new crop of leadership at its national level to steer affairs of the party to help propagate its campaign strategies to woo eligible Ghanaian voters to vote massively for the party to retain power.

In this regard, he has promised that if given the mandate he would pursue a vision that will enable the party to win the 2024 elections and beyond.

He said he will serve as the next NPP General Secretary and lead the party as the new chief executive of the party to win the ensuing general election.

Speaking at the program dubbed “Regional Unification and Thanksgiving Service,” Mr. Bissue congratulated the NPP delegates in the Eastern Region for electing Jeff Konadu Addo as its Regional Chairman and called on the supporters and members of the party to support him to continue to build the structures of the party.

The program which took place at the Methodist Conference Hall at Akim Oda on Sunday 5th June 2022 seeks to offer thanks to the Almighty for a successful regional election and also promote unity among the rank and file of the party at all levels within the region.

Mr. Bissue stated that he was happy the delegates elected Mr. Addo who he described as a hard-working personality in the NPP, adding that having been the former Western Regional Secretary of the party he has worked closely together with Mr. Addo who was then the Regional Secretary of the NPP.

He stressed that the election of Mr. Addo as the new Eastern Regional Chairman of the party would help to bring peace, and unity and build a strong foundation for the party in the region.

He noted that he worked as the Western Regional secretary for eight years but he couldn’t contest anyone.

He noted that where “we’ve reached now as a political party in Ghana, we have touted the NPP as an efficient political party but it needs to manage the structures of the party effectively to help win the general elections in 2024.”

He stated that his statement doesn’t mean that all the ranks and files have not worked hard for the progress of the party, saying that everybody within the party is doing their best to build a solid structure for the party.

He stated that he vying to contest for the general secretary position of the NPP will bring his vast experience on board to the national level to help fix the gap created in the party.

He said due to his experience in partisan politics he saw some gaps in the party in the Western Region but worked hard as the Western Regional Secretary to fill the gaps which has ensured the attainment of the 100 percent increment of the seats in the region.

That his previous achievements, according to Mr. Bissue have informed his decision to elevate himself to the national position since he realizes that there are also big gaps at the national level of the NPP, saying that “he thinks his vast political experience is needed to help fix the gap hence decision to contest the General Secretary position of the NPP.”

In this regard, he called on the supporters, members, and delegates of the party to rally behind him to win the general position to move the party forward.

He noted that in the political history of this country if the NPP goes into the opposition, it creates many fears in Ghanaians because its rival political party which is the National Democratic Congress (NDC) would come to destroy the economic progress of the country.

He pointed out that the government of the NPP has done a lot to improve the economic growth and living conditions of Ghanaians but he was quick to state that the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic had affected what the party did, making some Ghanaians lose hope in the leadership of the NPP.

He noted that if elected General Secretary, he would ensure that he peacefully talks to Ghanaians to make them have confidence in the NPP to vote for the party massively to win the 2024 general elections.

He stressed that the NPP needs the new crop of leadership at the national level to steer affairs of the party to help propagate the good campaign strategies of the party to woo eligible Ghanaian voters to vote massively for the party to retain power.

“It is possible those who voted are also human beings and that the way you talk to the person that would encourage him, her to have another confidence in you to give he/her votes to you in another election,” he noted.

He pointed out that footsoldiers or those who sacrificed their lives for the party to come to political power are now suffering and that he would ensure that would be things of the party if elected General Secretary of the party.

He stressed the need for the NPP to strengthen its welfare system to ensure that those who sacrificed their lives also benefit from the party to improve their living conditions.

‘I would ensure the welfare of the footsoldiers of the party if given the nod to be elected the General Secretary of the party,” he assured.
