The Ghana Education Service (GES) has revoked the appointments of teaching and non-teaching staff who haven’t been added to the government payroll yet.

This decision, effective immediately, follows a directive from the Chief of Staff, as outlined in a letter from the Office of the President on February 10, 2025.

The GES in a statement issued on February 17, 2025, and signed by the Acting Director-General of GES, Prof. Ernest Kofi Davis, has instructed all regional and district education directors to enforce strict compliance with this directive. As a result, affected personnel will not be added to the payroll, essentially canceling their appointments.
