GFP endorses ‘Roman Fada’ as Akua Donkor’s replacement on the Ballot Box
“We have decided to go according to the dying wishes of our late flagbearer, who said Roman Fada should take over from her in case she died."
Ghana Freedom Party (GFP) has announced that radio personality ‘Roman Fada’ will take over as flagbearer for the political party in the 2024 elections.
The decision to announce Roman Fada as the flagbearer is in line with the wishes of the late flagbearer of the party, Akua Donkor.
Announcing the decision to choose Roman Fada, the party said, “We have decided to go according to the dying wishes of our late flagbearer, who said Roman Fada should take over from her in case she died.”
They, however, did not mention who will be his running mate for the 2024 elections.
It will be recalled that the Electoral Commission, in a statement announcing the death of Akua Donkor, gave her political party 10 days to provide them with a replacement.
The decision to provide them with the number of days to provide a replacement was because the constitution hasn’t provided a clear-cut template on how to deal with the death of a flagbearer days before the election.
