GH¢500,000 Cash stolen from Deputy Finance Minister John Kumah’s Bedroom

Some thieves, on Friday, December 29, 2023 raided the residence of Ghana’s Deputy Minister of Finance, Dr. John Ampontuah Kumah.

Reports say the burglary occurred at about 6:44pm after Kumah and his family left their home at Chantan in the Greater Accra Region to attend a church service in town.

Complaints filed at the Mile 7 Police Station revealed that “The thieves made away with some GH¢500,000 cash, home appliances, and some sensitive documents including  passports, and birth certificates belonging to the wife of the Deputy Minister, Apostle Lillian Kumah’.

Police have obtained CCTV footage from the crime scene which captured one suspect moving about the house at the exact time the crime took place.

Police have also questioned some neighbors of the deputy minister as part of their investigations.
