Ghana Election 2020: Slain Mfantseman MP’s wife retains the seat for her late husband

NPP’s Parliamentary candidate for Mfantseman Constituency in the Central Region, Mrs. Ophelia Mensah Hayford has won in the 2020 polls to retain the seat.

Historically, Mrs. Mensah Hayford succeeded her late husband Mr. Ekow Kwansah as the Parliamentary Candidate for the constituency after some armed robbers shot and killed him while on campaign duties.

But the good news is that Mrs. Mensah Hayford makes the history of winning a second term for Mfantseman Constituency with 36,021 against her competitor Mr. James Odziifo Essoun who had 32,438 votes.

With this feat, we believe the sorrowful soul of her late husband will enjoy some smiles in the land of the living dead. Congratulations to her, regardless.
