The General Overseer of Praise Community Church, Rev. George Amoako-Nimako, has advised parents to educate their wards in ways that would encourage them to develop love for Ghana.
This, according to the man of God, would compel children to serve their country selflessly in honesty and dedication.
Rev. Amoako-Nimako made the call during the church’s celebration of a National Day to appreciate the culture diversity and unity in the country.
The National Day celebration is a day set aside by the Church to celebrate various cultures and ethnic groups in the sixteen regions of Ghana.
The service saw the display of various performances of cultural dances and poems from the diverse ethnic groups in the country.
Delivering the sermon of the day, Rev. George Amoako-Nimako explained the history of Ghana to his congregation, helping them to understand that “Ghana is a blessed nation because we are endured with mineral resources that we must use to push our development agenda as a people”.
He said “everything about Ghana is good because before we became Ghana we were called Gold Coast. They called us the Gold Coast because of the gold trade we had with our Europeans counterparts”.
According to Rev Nimako, Ghana is a blessed nation and that her citizens must be righteous because it is only through righteousness that we can achieve national development. He opined that for Ghana to move into the circles of developed countries, Christians must exhibit great sense of righteousness.
He mentioned that, the Ghanaian must be seen as being selfless in all aspects
that concerns the forward match of our dear Nation. The General Overseer was of the view that as Christians, we must activate our energy, money and even our lives to protect and build a very successful state.
He concluded that parents must exhibit great sense of love for Ghana so that their children would learn from them.
“Ghana needs a new generation of people who will think differently,” he added.
The congregants enjoyed food from the various ethnic groups and danced to local musics from the various musical groups in the church.
