HAPPY FARMERS DAY 2019
On the Occasion of the 35th National Farmers Day Celebrations on December 6, 2019, the National Leadership and the entire Membership of the Ghana Muslim Mission, would like to extend its sincere appreciation to all farmers and fishermen across the country, for their hard work, commitment and dedication to farming and their tireless efforts to feed the nation and beyond.
Secondly, we commend the national best farmer for attaining this feat and urge him to continue the good work for the sake of the people of Ghana and beyond.
On the other hand we implore government to commit more resources into the agricultural sector in order to make it attractive to more people.
We urge all religious bodies, Schools and Institutions to encourage their members especially the Youth to take up farming as a lucrative venture that will provide the needed employment opportunities for many young people and also contribute positively to the national economy.
Further, we appeal to the government to invest more technology into the sector, to make work a lot easier and less stressful for farmers. We also encourage the private sector to provide support for our farmers and fishermen in order for them to make more economic gains and create more employment.
Hence, we appeal to all Ghanaians to use locally produced farm produce in order to improve the economy and for our farmers to make some income that will lift them off the poverty line. The bumper harvest of locally produced rice is an indication that we can feed ourselves as a nation.
By way of our contribution towards national development, the Ghana Muslim Mission will hold its 61st National Conference at Kukuom in the Ahafo region, from 19th-22nd December, 2019 to raise funds for the establishment of a College of Education at Kukuom. We invite the general public to this all important event.
Once again, congratulations to all farmers and fisher folk. Ayekoo !!!
Thank you
SHEIKH DR. AMIN BONSU
