“The coach of this ‘team’, George Gyamfi Gyasi, met his untimely death shortly after being admitted to the Oslo University Hospital (ULEVAL) following his collapse on 28 April 2024. When the original Ghana Amputee Team Football was preparing for the just ended Amputee AFCON in Egypt, there was also another team training for that same tournament.” He added.

“It had to take a court order to stop the fake team from emigrating to Egypt ahead of the official team. There’s a need to weed these guys out once and for all.” Saddick Adams suggested.

Meanwhile, a letter from National Security Minister Albert Kan-Dapaah indicated that “the eleven-member (11) team failed to register and participate in the competition slated for 27th April 2024. Further, Nana Antwi, a team member was apprehended and detained on 26th April, 2024, by the Norwegian security officials for attempting to depart Norway to Sweden on a one-way train ticket.”

“Consequently, the Norwegian Embassy in Accra has issued alerts to other Schengen and Western Diplomatic Mission in Accra, and the European Border Coast Guard Agency as part of efforts to apprehend and repatriate the team members” Part of the statement read.
