Securing 284 votes in the 2025 municipal elections, Iddrisu emerged as the seventh-highest vote-getter within his party, the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Vaasa, earning him a seat on the Vaasa Municipal Council. This remarkable milestone reflects both his personal dedication and the growing recognition of his leadership within Finnish civic life.

Iddrisu’s journey to political office is nothing short of inspiring. Arriving in Vaasa in 2014 as an international student, he began life in Finland working as a cleaner while pursuing his education. Through perseverance, hard work, and continuous self-development, he rose to become a Project Manager, a part-time lecturer at Vaasa University of Applied Sciences (VAMK), and a respected public figure championing the cause of international residents.

In 2022, his master’s thesis on employer branding at the University of Vaasa was celebrated as Thesis of the Year in the Strategic Business Development programme, underscoring his academic brilliance and impact.
